Biography

Tea Botkoveli was born in Tbilisi, in 1979-83 she studied at the Iakob Nikoladze Tbilisi Art School.1983-1988 Tea Botkoveli studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, where her teachers were prominent artists Gibson Khundadze and Zurab Samkharadze.After graduating from the academy, Tea Botkoveli has been a member of the Georgian Artists’ Union since 1989.Since 1993, while still a student, he has participated in various group exhibitions of artists.1997 Tea Botkovel took part in a symposium of European artists in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.Tea Botkovel’s personal exhibitions:
  • 1995 January – First solo exhibition at Aurora Magazine Gallery in St. Petersburg, Russia;
  • 1996 May – Personal exhibition in Tbilisi, in the cultural centre “Business Club”;
  • 1997 December – Personal exhibition in Tbilisi, in the cultural centre “Business Club”;
  • 2000 May – personal exhibition in Tbilisi, in the gallery “Old Gallery”;
  • 2000 October – Personal exhibition in the exhibition hall of the “UN House” in Tbilisi.
  • 2001 January – Personal exhibition in the exhibition space of TBC Bank in Tbilisi;
  • 2001 December – personal exhibition at the Embassy of Georgia in Paris;
  • 2002 Personal exhibition in Berlin, Embassy of Georgia;
  • 2003 July – Personal exhibition in Tbilisi, in the gallery “Old Gallery”.

Tea Botkovel’s works are preserved in private collections in Georgia, Austria, Germany, Russia, Greece, France, USA, Turkey, Russia and other countries.
